Scaffold Inspection 2 Day Course
INTRODUCTION
This course of training will enable Managers and Supervisors to perform their duties relating to the inspection of scaffolds to comply with the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 and The Work at Height Regulations 2005.
COURSE AIMS
Set out the employer’s statutory obligation to have safe scaffolds for personnel to work from; competent persons to inspect and then complete reports on scaffolds in the workplace; and to give delegates practice at inspecting different types of scaffolds, fault finding and completing inspection report.
OBJECTIVES
At the end of the course delegates will:-
- Be able to understand the requirements of the legislation applicable to scaffolding and the employer’s duties and responsibilities
- Understand the basic scaffold components and the principal of safe erecting and dismantling of scaffold structures

2.System Scaffolding
3.Fixed and mobile Aluminium Access Scaffolding
- Be able to manage the selection and use of scaffolds
- Complete a scaffold inspection report
TRAINEE NUMBERS
A Maximum of 16 trainees will be permitted per instructor
DURATION
2 Days
ACHIEVEMENT MEASUREMENT
Delegates will be expected to identify at least 80% of the faults on the main scaffolding at the final inspection; and achieve at least 80% in the written knowledge retention test papers.
DELIVERY METHOD
This course will be delivered using a mixture of presentation methods, sample components, use of videos, and practical exercises on a scaffold.
