Managing Health and Safety in Construction:

(Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007)

INTRODUCTION

This 1 day course of training will help ‘duty holders’ attending understand their responsibilities for managing health and safety, from the concept of the project through to the completion of the build and onto maintenance of the finished structure. It will introduce duty holders to the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007 and the industry Guidance, and outline the responsibilities of the Client, Designer, CDM Coordinator and Principal Contractor and Contractor; and introduce ‘practical application’ opportunities for compliance.

COURSE AIMS

  • Bring duty holders up to date with the CDM 07 Regulations and requirements for the management and organisation of construction sites;
  • Help duty holders recognise and understand their own safety, health and welfare management responsibilities for projects;
  • Assist guide, and encourage duty holders to develop their knowledge of practical arrangements for compliance;
  • Provide opportunities and examples for duty holders to gain knowledge of arrangements for the management of safety, health and welfare
  • Assist and encourage course members to develop management techniques and methods for dealing with future safety, health and welfare matters
